Faculty of Computer Systems & Software Engineering (FSKKP) had successfully organized a FSKKP’s Hi-Tea with Industries. It was held on 27 January 2010 at The Royale Bintang Kuala Lumpur.

The main purpose of this program is to gain industries’ feedback & suggestions for FSKKP’s new master programs so that it is in-line with the industries’ requirements. The faculty is planning to offer three master programs namely as Master of Science (Software Engineering), Master of Science (Computer Networking) and Master of Science (Information & Communication Technology).

The program started with the opening speech given by the Dean of FSKKP, Associate Professor Dr. Jasni Binti Mohamad Zain and continued with the program briefings by head of programs.

About 45 representatives from various industries were involved in this program such as Oracle, MDeC, HICOM, Prestariang, Sapura, Colgate etc. The Master of Science (Information & Communication Technology) is targeted for candidates with non ICT background. Hence, some of the participants were representative of various industries sectors.

This program was a beneficial event. The comments and feedbacks from the industries were very encouraging.

KUANTAN – Mencungkil bakat yang terpendam di dalam diri setiap mahasiswa semestinya suatu perkara yang wajar dilakukan. Fakulti Sistem Komputer & Kejuruteraan Perisian, Universiti Malaysia Pahang dengan kerjasama oleh Jabatan Hal Ehwal Pelajar & Alumni telah menganjurkan satu program iaitu Imagine Cup Talk 2010.

 

Imagine Cup merupakan satu pertandingan yang mencabar kretiviti dan memerlukan pelajar menggunakan bakat mereka ke tahap yang paling maksima. Pertandingan yang berlangsung selama 1 tahun ini merupakan pertandingan yang amat sengit kerana semua pelajar di seluruh dunia berpeluang untuk menyertai pertandingan ini.

Bersempena dengan pertandingan ini, FSKKP telah menganjurkan 1 ceramah untuk menerangkan kepada mahasiswa mengenai pertandingan ini dan menarik minat mereka untuk menyertai pertandingan ini. Mereka telah menjemput penceramah dari Microsoft iaitu Mr. Ian Su untuk memberi penerangan mengenai pertandingan ini.

Peringkat akhir Imagine Cup untuk tahun ini akan diadakan di Poland. Malaysia telah menghantar 2 kumpulan ke Egypt, pada tahun lepas sebagai wakil Malaysia dalam Imagine Cup Final. Kedua-dua kumpulan ini berjaya meraih tempat pertama dan ketiga dalam Unlimited Potential Design for Development Award.

Program yang dihadiri seramai 100 orang mahasiswa ini amat berguna kepada mereka kerana dengan menyertai pertandingan ini mereka dapat menambah pengalaman mereka dan berpeluang mewakili Universiti Malaysia Pahang ke peringkat Imagine Cup Malaysia yang akan diadakan di Langkawi. Malah, mereka juga berpeluang mewakili Malaysia ke Poland. Program yang diadakan di Auditorium Perpustakaan Universiti Malaysia Pahang berlangsung selama 3 jam iaitu dari jam 2.00pm – 5.00pm.

 

Dengan bertemakan Imagine a world where technology helps solve the toughest problems facing us today.” Peserta perlulah mengikuti tema yang diberikan dan system yang dibina akan dapat mengatasi 8 masalah yang dihadapi oleh unia pada masa ini seperti yang dibawah:

Achieve Universal Primary Education
Promote Gender Equality and Empower Women
Reduce Child Mortility
Improve Maternal Health
Combat HIV/AIDS, Malaria and Other Deseases
Ensure Environment Sustainability
