Bachelor of Computer Science (Graphics & Multimedia Technology) with Honours

Bachelors Degree in Computer Science (Graphics & Multimedia Technology) or better known as BCG emphasizes on three main aspects which are technical knowledge, technical skills and social skills. This program was specifically designed to support the objectives if the faculty, which is to produce graduates that are informative, highly skilled and competitive in the field of Computer Science, Graphics and Multimedia Technology.


Upon completion of this program students should be able to:

  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the theories and principles of Computer Science specializing in Graphics & Multimedia Technology
  • Apply appropriate techniques, skills and tools in computer science practices specializing in Graphics & Multimedia Technology
  • Identify problems and produce innovative solutions that comply with principles of Computer Science specializing in Graphics & Multimedia Technology
  • Communicate effectively within a wide range of audiences and context through oral and written skills
  • Demonstrate social skills and responsibilities in recognition and acceptance of individual and cultural diversity
  • Demonstrate behaviours that are consistent with professional standards and ethical responsibilities
  • Research, explore, learn and use new computer technology for continuing study and lifelong learning
  • Apply managerial and technopreneurial skills that fulfil the requirements of respective field
  • Function effectively as an individual and in a group with the capability to be a leader or manager
  • Present their knowledge and understanding in the theories and principles of Computer Science / Graphics and Multimedia Technology
  • Produce marketable software with commercial values accepted by the global market
  • Design application systems by utilizing standard software development processes (planning, requirements analysis, design, implementation, testing and maintenance)
  • Able to utilize standard methods and tools in the management of computer graphics and multimedia (including project management, application development, computer graphics and multimedia)

Besides that, students should have aquired generic abilities allowing them to:

  • Effective team working in completing a software development project (team working skills and leadership)
  • Present technical solutions to a variety of audiences (communication skills)
  • Identifying problems and its innovative solution fulfilling the principals of Computer Science (problem solving skills)
  • Act as ethical professionals (good moral values)
  • Consistent researching, exploring, learning and using new computer technologies and indulging in long life learning (learning skills)

Academic year Intended outcome
First year Exposure to the basics of Computer Science and Graphics & Multimedia Technology. Practical approach to programming, application development workshop, computer assembly workshop, operating systems, data communications and fundamentals of mathematics for Computer Science students.
Second year Exposure to the basics of graphics and software development by utilizing standards of software development process which are planning, requirements analysis, design and implementation. Practical approaches to the development of web sites, databases, object oriented software development, artificial intelligence, and usable application. Mathematics applicable to Software Engineering is also introduced.
Third year Exposure to the management of Graphics & Multimedia Technology. Emphasis is put on managing log of activities and transactions to ensure that the network is safely distributed. Issues of ethics and safety are exposed to students in ensuring the implementations of systems in a network are safe trustworthy.
Fourth year Exposure to real life working environment as an introductory experience for students. Emphasis on presenting oneself to organizations and the industry.
